Whoa! Chief, is this data of yours for real?? Coz those yeebo boys have been running amock on NL, claiming the 'highest population'/most educated region in the country on account of their apparently higher Jamb applicants and state of origin data -- especially from Imo state. This is very interesting to say the least.

Coz those yeebo boys have been running amock on NL, claiming the 'highest population'/most educated region in the country on account of their apparently higher Jamb applicants and state of origin data -- especially from Imo state. This is very interesting to say the least. yes, it is very Factual. It is based on data provided by the NBS. Truly, Imo state has a very high application rate. This is because they are a very populated state with very few opportunities, so its citizenry are spread across Nigeria.. And as you well know, migrants usually end up with better opportunities than the locals, many-a-times. But aside Imo... Anambra, their second best would rank in third position if it was a SW state. Kwara state was a pleasant surprise. Punching well above its purported national population. Ekiti is also PUNCHING WELL ABOVE its population weight. So the rumors are true. Rivers seems to me not to be a very natively populated state. Just an average sized state without all the non-natives living in it i.e just like Lagos on a smaller scale. The SW also has an higher admission rate into Universities than the SE and SS.... Meaning the margin between graduates produced by each region is even wider. I am quite satisfied by the data, but we can do even better.

What would be even more interesting for me would be the data of where these applicants reside -- I mean what percentage of them are based in their states of origin. In the case of Imo for example, some yeebos like to use this data as a premise for their argument that they are the most populous ethnic group in Nigeria, a claim I find very amusing and ridiculous because not only is such data grossly inadequate to arrive at such a wild conclusion, but even Anambra folks would never concede that Imo indigenes outnumber them in the SE let alone in the whole of Nigeria. Those Imo folks may even be more concentrated in the SE than any other region for all we know sef as I understand that a substantial number of them reside in Anambra and Enugu, and in my experience and interactions, I have come across way more Anambra indigenes than those from Imo.

Personally, I am more concerned with the ethnic make-up of all applicants. SW Origin automatically translated to Yoruba. ome 20% of the Kogi figures and some 80% of Kwara figures. SE Automatically means Igbo. Add in some 30% of Delta state, and some 30% of Rivers. Going by Application by states of residence will be a totally different picture. Lagos, F.C.T, Rivers and many others would shoot up.

Yep its true. Imo state igbos are the ones who go to school. They aren't really that into trading like the stereotype. The Anambra igbos are responsible for the stereotype: loud, abrasive, arrogant traders lol.

The usual suspects will soon begin to claim that it's most likely their people's kids who have flooded Ogun (just as they have Lagos) that are responsible for the current Ogun state result, since the results don't include state of origin. Lol. Did you also notice that Abia had the highest incidence of malpractice?

It's a result of years of being flattered by other ethnic groups who felt sorry for their loss of the civil war and showered them with exaggerated praises of their abilities. I find myself asking if they are the only hardworking and enterprising people in Nigeria while the rest of us have to tacitly concede to being lesser beings. These days it's not uncommon to hear stuff like 'I'm Yoruba but I just have to admit igbos are hardworking, igbos are talented, igbos get mind, igbos are ambitious, igbos are smart, igbos are best thing since sliced bread', and I'm like what tha actual fuck??? Are they any more 'hardworking' than those mallams that push wheelbarrows, or the Yoruba mechanics that ply their trade under the sun? It's almost like we all must also embrace trading wholesale, while sitting around in our shops waiting for customers to patronize our wares to be seen as hardworking and enterprising??? And you'll be hard-pressed to find them being the ones praising the good sides of other ethnic groups or appreciating the diversity and strengths of others. No o, coz everyone else but them is lazy and unambiguous. But no be their fault.

You know sometimes, it could be very shameful being Yoruba when you hear some of the things we say. Heck! some Yoruba fool on twitter did a numbered thread telling us how Yorubas treat flats in Lagos and how they show us so much love in their cities. Whaaaat? We have this disgusting eye service character and the thing is, in as much as we think we are impressing anyone or we think some people are lowkey cheering us, they are actually laughing at us and seeing through our bullshit which they tag "cunning" or "sly" Anyway, as usual, we can only wait for them to have that Biafra.
