Osun’s roads, schools have no parallels in Nigeria – NULGE President Khaleel The President of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Comrade Ibrahim Khaleel has described the quality of roads and schools being executed by the Osun state government as unprecedented in Nigeria. He said, in terms of quality and network, the roads and schools constructed in Osun have proved to be the best in Nigeria. He commended Governor Rauf Aregbesola-led administration in the state for securing a better future for the state through the provision of developmental infrastructures. Comrade Khaleel made the statement after his assessment tour of some of the roads and mega-schools in the state during his visit to the state for the 2017 NULGE Week 2017. The NULGE National President said the visit of the national leadership of the Union to the state was a clear testimony to the giant strides made by the Aregbesola administration in the last six years. Khaleel stated that no road in the country shares common quality in terms of materials being used by the state on its roads construction. He said the presence of the national leadership of NULGE in Osun avails him and other members of the union the opportunity to tour some of the strategic places where government interventions had clearly manifested. He stated that the kind of model schools built across the state under Aregbesola’s watch are not only beneficial but incomparable with others in the country. The NULGE President explained that the visit of the Union to some of the ongoing government projects across the nooks and crannies of the state depicted the high sense of Governor Aregbesola’s determination to quality in public service delivery. He attributed the presence of infrastructural facilities being put in place by the state government as a manifestation of the Aregbesola’s passion to good governance. Khaleel said with what he personally testified to, there is no doubt that the Osun government has distinguished itself in maintaining and sustaining international best standard in road construction and rehabilitation. He said the state had laid a good foundation for quality in public services as this was reflected in the implementation of its socio-economic policies and programmes. He said it was obvious that the people of the state have started enjoying the advantages of the projects which are scattered across the state. “I am very happy to be in Osun to testify to the good things going on across the state. In fact, what I saw is clearly different from the pictures painted about the state. “We have moved round the state and the quality of the infrastructural developments that we personally saw can never be compared with others anywhere in Nigeria. “The quality of the road construction in the state is in no doubt strictly in consonance with the international standards as this can never be compared with any road in Nigeria including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. “I am highly impressed that one of our governors could do these laudable projects in spite the challenges facing the nation’s economy. ” As I call on other states including Federal Government to key into the Osun quality moves in infrastructural development, I also urge them to, as a matter of necessity, prioritise quality in all the public services rendered to the people, as this remains the only way to sustain the people’s confidences and promote good governance. “We in NULGE identify with the achievements of Governor Aregbesola and the quality of his work which can never be found anywhere in Nigeria,” he added. Earlier, the Deputy Governor of the state, Mrs Grace Titi Laoye-Tomori who hosted the NULGE delegation on behalf of the Governor, commended the national leadership of the union for supporting sustenance of democratic ideals. Describing NULGE as a vibrant trade union for socio-economic emancipation in the country, she said the role of the union in nation building can never be over-emphasised. Laoye-Tomori lauded the National President of the union for being relentless in pursuing comfort for his members across the nation. Source

I don't know any governor in Nigeria that has built as much schools as Aregbe Bro, I tried what you suggested the last time, that I should tag or report those flatheads' posts and it has yielded results, though it might have come a bit late but the mods have deleted their stupid comments on the front page. I have come to realize that Anambra folks are generally very insecure vermins. Nothing else gets them all worked up than good news coming out Osun it seems. I think it's because at a point in time during Obi's tenure, some reviews rated Osun ahead of their state in some areas, and ever since then they've spared no opportunity in trying to run her down any chance they get. But in the process they end up coming across as extremely jealous and insecure. Those people have mad issues I tell you.

Honorebu, Ogbeni Ogunnaike: And would you believe that the Anambra State government isn't playing at all with their image laundering on social media, so much so that their media guys actually contact news sites that have unflattering images of their state archived and try to persuade them to take such pictures down? I'm not even making this up bro. In fact they have largely succeeded at this strategy especially with Igbo-friendly newspapers and sources online. I know this coz most of the pictures that were once available online showing not so developed parts of the state now have dead links to them on Google. These are links that you could easily accessible in the past by doing a simple Google Search and click, but now they no longer exist. All gone. But unfortunately for them the ones uploaded on Nairaland servers are still very much active coz they have little control over those, though the ones on NL via external links are also broken. Their objective is to be in control of the images of their state that's being projected to the outside world, most especially online. And they're achieving this goal through clever tagging and s.e.o techniques. That's also why they almost always label their pictures on Nairaland. Now I really don't care about that except that they are also deliberately employing similar techniques to project SW cities and states in an unflattering light, and ironically Nairaland, a Yoruba owned website, is their most effective weapon for achieving these aims. It's not by mistake that they almost obsessively upload those 'brown roof' pictures any chance they get on that site. And it's working because those are the sort of pictures that Google almost always pulls up whenever you do a search on them. The wider aim is actually to attempt to steal the SW's shine as a bastion of progressiveness and development in people's minds. But in the expected fashion, our people just laugh it off. I really have to give it to them though coz when it comes to propaganda, we are obviously no match for them, trust me. During the civil war, even though they ended up losing on the battlefield, they undoubtedly TKO'd Nigeria in the propaganda war.

On point Short_Biscuit. But whether they like it or not, they will continue to play catch up. This thing is more of a psyche thing. As long as they keep migrating to the SW and running away from their region, they will always have this inferiority complex about their region being less developed cos every sane person would ask; if your region is that good, why are you running away from there? All these are self-consolation mechanisms. They use those brown roof pics to assure themselves lol. Non Nigerians generally don't give a 4++k about the country but among Nigerians, those from other tribes generally view the SW favourably than the SE. Heck! Even they themselves know lol. Besides, you will hardly find people from other ethnicities in their states compared to the SW where you will find folks from all ethnicities. That says a lot. Why is no one going there? Shows you how people from other ethnic groups view the region.

To the extent that he once went on a 'tour' of the SW and started snapping brown roofs which he later displayed on Nairaland just so he can 'prove' to his ilk that the SW lacks enough modern housing compared to Alaigbo. Imagine such level of desperation and obsession?? Very serious something o.
