Seconded. In the spirit of present economic strangulation in the country, we should learn to be prudent with the creation of threads as very soon we shall have hundreds of interesting threads begging for our viewership.

AgbongboAkala , IrekeOnibudo , Wow! this is Ogun state. Isn't this the Ibara Flyover?
If this is what all of Amosun's roads look like, then I won't blink an eye before reversing my judgement of him.
My views have always been subject to change after all

ABOUT KHE From modern infrastructural amenities such as- independent power plant, water treatment plant, gas supply, central sewage system, waste management system to recreational facilities like parks, play ground, to other amenities like- shopping malls, office space, tarred roads, bicycle lane, street lights and crèche, the driving force behind Ogun State’s most sophisticated residential estate is comfort and a high standard of living.Over the years, inadequate plan to provide for the housing needs of the people or at best set standards for private developers had forced residents to settle for less degenerating living conditions. For this reason, the Kobape Residential Estate plays a vital role in restoring and giving to the good people of Ogun State an uplifted standard of living. The state government through the Ministry of Housing offer lands of various measurements for sale at the Kobape Residential Estate. These lands are in 5 categories of A, B, C and D, which are earmarked for residential structures covering up to 2,922,652 square meters and the E category covering about 13,975 square meters is allocated to commercial use.Kobape Residential Estate is to be developed on approximately 50 hectares of land in Kobape. The site is being developed from its raw state in partnership with a private firm that will facilitate the design, execute and advance the estate to an urban setting of monumental infrastructural facilities. The site is strategically located at Kobape on the outskirt of the main Abeokuta township, the capital of Ogun State. It shares boundary with the new Government Model School. The proximity of the estate to the Sagamu interchange of the Lagos-Ibadan express way is about twenty minutes and about 2 minutes from Abeokuta’s Oke-Mosan which houses key structures like the Governor’s Office, State and Federal Secretariats, the Federal High Court and the Nigerian Immigration Office. Already, the site is evolving from an imaginary concept into a big reality. The Kobape Housing Estate will have infrastructures like good road networks with drainages, bicycle lane, park, play ground, street lights, boundary wall and gate and security post as priorities. The most impressive facilities that marks this project ‘a shift from the norm’ are- independent power plant for electricity distribution, water treatment and distribution plant, central sewage treatment plant, central domestic gas supply systems and waste management systems.Kobape Residential Estate is designed to be residential but with support facilities such as a crèche and a commercial area that will consist of a shopping mall and other utility service centres. It’s a total package. The estate is to be developed on four different plot sizes to meet individual preferences. These plot sizes are 625, 1200, 1500 and 1800 square metres.WHY YOU SHOULD BUY LAND HERE Smart people will seize the moment and buy land here, because Kobape Residential Estate has the potential to be a smart environment to live, work and play. SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT As a developing business destination, Ogun is rebuilding across all sectors including its housing infrastructure to drive investments that will shape West Africa’s economy
Kobape Residential Estate’s Interrelated Infrastructural Systems is aimed at Providing Services to Enable, Sustain, and Enhance High Standard of Living. With such a bold investment in affordable and conducive housing by the Ogun State government, the dividends of democracy and good governance is fast reaching the people for whom government is structured. Without any iota of doubt, even the most hardened critic will agree that the potentials of this project is inexhaustible in terms of overriding social and economic benefits directly targeted at the people especially the middle income earners. Asides its social gains, the housing intervention programme of the Ogun
The State government is seen as a development strategy that will economically empower the people to own properties of their own. In particular, the Kobape Residential Estate is a model of the housing reforms being embarked upon by the Ogun State government. This project is set to change what has been the norm in terms of housing projects. Unlike previous housing projects, the Kobape Residential Estate project is aimed at giving the populace a life of ease by providing standard infrastructural facilities that will enhance their living conditions.
SECTIONAL STRUCTURE The focus of the Kobape Residential Estate is to have an urban setting that gives a complete round of satisfaction. The estate will bring residents close to their work, and their work close to their homes, for those who wouldn’t want to be far away from both. Also, for appropriate organization and effective distribution of infrastructural facilities as well as proper maintenance, the Kobape Residential Estate has four main sectional areas:
- Residential Areas
- Commercial Areas
- Utility Areas
- Recreational Areas
RESIDENTIAL AREA The residential area covers about 2,922,652 square metres and consists of plot categories marked A, B, C and D. This area is mainly for residential buildings occupying about 60% of the entire land mass of the estate. It is expected to accommodate close to 1500 residents.
Residential buildings in this area will have direct supply of domestic gas, uninterrupted electricity from the independent power plant, waste disposal services and smooth street-into-street drive ways that does not go to sleep while the sun sets but stays alive and lighted up by street lights.
COMMERCIAL AREA The Kobape Residential Estate though designed to be fully residential and to give a whole new Housing experience with magnificent amenities that needs no magnifying lens to view its maximum advantages will have a commercial area that will extend over the E plot category. The commercial area of the estate will extend over 13, 975 square metres. It will accommodate about 500 people for business activities.
This commercial area, which is just about 2.7% of the entire land mass is strategically located at the entry zone that leads into the estate. It will service the needs of the residents and also nearby residential areas such as Laderin Housing Estate and including the Ogun State Model School, which is situated just at the boundary. The commercial area is expected to be occupied by shopping malls, a crèche, primary school and other business centres.
UTILITY AREA Significant amongst all are the enticing utility services that proudly mark the distinctive potentials of Kobape Residential Estate. The utility services area will be located at the back end of the estate, just at the brook front. This area will occupy about 5.6% of the entire land mass to accommodate impressive features like the power plant, water treatment plant, waste management centre, central sewage treatment plant and the domestic gas plant.
From independent power plant, water treatment plant, domestic gas supply, central sewage system to waste management, the driving force behind Ogun state’s most sophisticated residential estate is comfort and high living standard.
RECREATION AND GREEN AREA Covering about 12.4% of the total land mass of the estate, the recreation park is almost at the centre of the estate just after a drive from the commercial area connecting the residential area. The park will specifically have children laughing and playing around at the field while adults will find it suitable to let-out some air and can have some tête-à- tête just on the trimmed green grass. And if need be to unwind, sporting activities are a go.
And for a more natural experience, a walk through the brook, flowing on the east end of the estate, in-between green landscape that suggests a representation of a coastal scenery, which merges healthiness with aesthetics will give a complete feeling of refreshment.

Found these on Ogun state, but I think SW should employ these tactics for regional development. Infrastructure Advantages
Good road network | The estate is designed to have tarred street-into-street roads with reliable drainage systems. These roads will run through all streets within the estate bearing the Ogun Standard signature. Whether you choose to drive a saloon or a SUV or even a bicycle, it’s just going to be a smooth drive all the way through tarred roads with drainages and bicycle lane
| Street Lights | Another important feature within the estate will be an array of street lights that will beam over the darkness of the night, lightening up the roads and the footways even to give the night a life of its own. Even at nights the day is just breaking again with IPP powered street lights | Independent Power Plant | Simply no worries about electricity, Residents will enjoy cleaner air and highly efficient, reliable electricity that will be generated from steam and natural gas turbines One impressive feature of the Kobape Housing Estate that will distinguish it from many across the nation is the independent power plant for the generation, transmission and distribution of electric power to homes and commercial buildings within the estate. This will probably be the first housing estate in Nigeria with an independent power plant. Residents will have no worries about incessant power failure. | Water Treatment Plant
| Another distinctive feature of the Kobape Housing Estate is the water treatment plant. This facility will treat and produce portable water, and also ensure adequate supply to meet the needs of the estate. The Ogun state government is very much keen in ensuring access to safe water for health and sanitation gains which is imperative for a healthy living. There are golden advantages at Kobape Residential Estate One of it is you having your pipes never running dry of safe water, that’s a big one you don’t want to ignore. | Sewage Treatment Plant
| The Estate will have a central sewage system designed to collect all waste water from sewage lines to the treatment plant. This facility will help to keep the estate free from fluid waste that could constitute environmental hazards. With an impressive potential to be a smart environment to live, work and play. | Waste Management System
| The Kobape Housing Estate is a unique and complete amenity that is designed to offer residents all basic needs. In this regard, a waste management system would be in place to administer the collection, transportation and processing of wastes within the estate. This not only prevents environmental hazards but also preserves the aesthetics of the environment. | Security | We understand that where your treasure is, there lies your heart. KRE will have a water-tight security measure that guarantees the safety of lives and properties of residents. The security measures include boundary wall, gates, security personnel and a security post that will be open to take your calls 24/7 and equipped to act accordingly, especially during emergencies. “Secure” is not just a word language, It’s an action devoid of laxity. At KRE, security is all about making possible a water-tight action plan that will make “secure” more than just a word |

Honorebu when I told you, you said it was a 2013 project. If you know that area very well, nobody would tell you before you drop your judgment. There are plenty of them in Abeokuta right now. The longest flyover seems to be the one from Ago Oba through Odo Oyo and Itoku down to Kemta Oloko. And immediately, there is another one from there through Sapon to Okebode junction. There is also another one in Iyana Mortuary. Some of the roads have been expanded to 6 lanes. I just prayed that he has the means to complete all the projects. Abeokuta will definitely be really opened for serious business.

AgbongboAkala , You can bookmark this thread to make it easier for you to track the updates How? I'll be glad. Forget to tell you that that bridge is the one being compared with the one Ajimobi built at Mokola in Ibadan. That of Ajimobi is a single lane but this one is not only double lane, it is also the cheaper than that of Ajimobi. Well we call it Ogun Standard.
