Oyo Customs generates over N13bThe Nigeria Customs Service, Oyo and Osun command, generated over N13 billion between January and November, Area Commander Abdulsalam Hazzan has said. Hazzan said the command would continue to build on its achievements on revenue generation and anti-smuggling. “The Oyo/Osun command has continued to reinvigorate and intensify efforts in its anti-smuggling drive. On Monday, at 1am, through intelligence, a combined team bombarded a forest on Kishi-Igbeti axis where smugglers hid bags of foreign imported rice. “The bags were brought into the command in five trucks. This seizure will send a signal that there is no hiding place or going back on duty payment on rice importation through the borders. “It is worthy of note to mention that the command generated N144, 285,138.00 from 2156 metric tonnes (43,120) (50kg) bags of rice between October and November, when the restriction on duty collection from the borders was removed.’’ Source : The Nation

Wow! That's cool
I don't really know much about accounting but I'm wondering If the money made from customs is retained by the state or goes into the FG's account

Oyo: Ajimobi targets N3.5bn IGR in 2016Governor Abiola Ajimobi, has appealed to citizens of the state not to despair in the face of the tottering economy. He assured residents that his administration has embarked on massive reengineering and restructuring that will soon take the state out of the woods. The governor made the appeal when he addressed well-wishers at a thanksgiving service to commemorate his 66th birthday at the Government House Chapel, Ibadan yesterday. At the event were the governor’s wife, Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, his children, family, friends and associates. He told people of the state to expect dividends of the new efforts next year, which, he said would shore up the internally generated revenue from the current N1.2billion to N3.5billion. Ajimobi said the pervading economic depression would bring out the best in him as an experienced manager of men and resources. “I want to use this opportunity to assure our people that the government is doing everything possible to take the state out of its present financial challenges. The result will begin to manifest very soon. The economy of Oyo will be buoyant again. We have latent potential, which we are going to unleash. “I make bold to say that in the next one year, our monthly Internally-Generated Revenue will move from N1.2billion to N3.5 billion. And, in the next two years, it will move up to N5 billion…” Source: Sun News Online

@quimicababes , 3.5bn IGR monthly is a very realistic target.
If those suggestions we made on the other thread can be followed, I have no doubt they can achieve that
$42 Naira IGR for a state like Oyo in a year is very realistic
Its all about doing the right things
