Fayemi has already started work on this. My friend who is a miner in Jos attended a forum of miners hosted by Fayemi in Abuja some 3 weeks ago. They were also at the BOI where the bank promised to assist with financing. The regulations have started taking effect already as one of the biggest miners in the Plateau and Bauchi states by name Dan-China was asked to pay royalties of up to N1Billion for the sites he mines from. I'm sure we'll start seeing the effects of these reforms soon I hope so too

Even if oil price hits $200 Nigeria would still be in trouble. What did we achieve when the price of oil was hovering around $100?

Yep...I am hopeful Trini will pull through it once the government goes more downstream, increase manufacturing and just diversify our economy more. Its a good thing in a way as it will force our respective countries to diversify more...my opin.

Must economic situation gets to this horrible point before they start wearing their thinking cap? It's just a shame. Nothing more.

Nothing more. errrr...I have mixed feelings tho....Trini absolute black pop is about 34.2% and there have been plans to diversify Trini economy from since about 2007....fact is government changed which upset a lot of the original plans and money was being spent by the last government as if there was no tomorrow...some Caribbean governments situation own is sticky due to natural disaster. Most of their economy is tourism and agriculture based and when they are hit by hurricanes..sometimes their entire productive economy is wiped out.Hurricanes is a given for several Caribbean islands. Overall I do agree...black ppl do fail to plan for the future tho.
