At the end of the day, the drop in the value of oil is a very positive thing
Neglected sectors will be rejuvenated

Yeah, I kinda agree with your analyses. More and more people from the region are beginning to see and tap into opportunities in the agric sector. Even yours truly isn't not left out of the current rush as I have a young and growing agric inputs production and distribution company (that is in addition to my software engineering business). Our major target markets for now are Oyo, Ogun, and Osun -- and surprisingly we have found that a lot of our customers are also Lagos-based with farms around ikorodu, Epe, and Badagry. We intend to make inroads into other states and regions after attaining scale in the SW region. My interest in agric potentials was piqued after attending a month-long agric training on vegetable farming at the Oke Ogun area of Oyo state sometime last year. Farming is the new cool eh..Let me also add that yours truly is not left out Now that there is renewed interest in Agric..this is the time for these states to review their C of O policies to make land acquisition easy as ABC. Ogun has done perfectly well in that regard...I don't know about Oyo Oil go soon finish for Naija..I heard it's just just 40 years left..No jokes...The government won't be making much money from it but Dangote go milk bar gaan because he owns the refinery and he will most likely be importing his oil due to the whole shenanigan Natural gas is probably the only hope for the sector...I don't know how much of it we have in the SW But the non-oil economy looks promising sha Spot-on. A lot of SW-based agro related enterprises are doing extremely well without making much noise (I laugh out loud when I hear the gigbos making noise about some Anambra agro-related strides when private folks in the SW have already gone way past such levels without making noise). Ibadan/Oyo especially is doing fantastically well, especially in the areas of Poultry and Fishery. Obiano is on record for lamenting that Ibadan singlehandedly supplies ALL the SE states their day-old chicks and poultry. An Anambra government sponsored report also found out that no less than 60% of all the fish sold at Onitsha market are sourced from the same Ibadan/Oyo axis. Apparently it's been that way for only God knows how long, yet you don't see Yorubas making press releases about that and trumpeting it, in fact it took their own government to bring such information to public glare. Lol.

Lol. Why this is not being reflected on the indices remains a mystery to me We still need to do more sha.. I'm still digging online for an updated report on the agricultural outputs of Nigerian states Who produces the most crops and all that..

I guess you missed or forgot about this Nairaland thread: www.nairaland.com/2925248/innoson-produces-parts-nigerian-airforce#42795603Where i used my Flyoruboy handle to bring to light the Yoruba owned proforce which predates Innoson. The ogun state based company manufactures military gear and vehicles for both the Nigerian government and foreign ones. It is owned by an Ekiti man. This shows that we have the capacity and experience to start manufacturing automobiles if and when we choose to. I can't forget how humbled those flatheads were after they saw pix of proforce's output. I practically took over that thread and shut them up.
