Ogun is already number 2, lol no doubt about this. Its own natural population growth + Overflow from lagos + all the new and old settlements that have almost quintipled since 2006 loun loun.
Once that Lagos industrial development enter Ogun in full, E go taaaay before it enters the next state. Because of the plenty land.

My major concern with this trend is that much of this population growth in Lagos and Ogun is probably due to migration from other regions, and if the trend continues for long enough, I can easily see us becoming a minority throughout our own region! Do we really want a situation where clannish migrants from certain landlocked and impoverished parts of the country get to determine the governors of Lagos, Ogun and Oyo states?

Do we really want a situation where clannish migrants from certain landlocked and impoverished parts of the country get to determine the governors of Lagos, Ogun and Oyo states? That's one of the primary reasons why I support the Biafra 2.0 agitation. Unfortunately it's turning out like Kanu and his minions are nothing but a bunch of jokers. In my opinion, the Oyo population increase seems relatively more 'organic' in a way than the Ogun one, as Oyo/Ibadan has always been a magnet for a lot of our people who live in the hinterland states and has served as an alternative to Lagos due to its proximity, that's besides the fact that the state had traditionally been the most populated part of Yorubaland until Lagos population started to balloon after the mid-60s. Though I think the latest Ogun population explosion consists of a mixbag of Nigerians from the SW (both native and Yorubas from outside the state), Niger-Delta, SE, and a bit from the North. Regardless, we need to have enough autonomy to regulate indiscriminate migration to our states, as the current structure doesn't take the level of population increase of Ogun state (for instance) into consideration when it comes to revenue allocation and the likes coz some interesting datas suggest that the population of the state may already be the second highest in the country after Lagos. If something isn't done to control the influx/migration into the state, I am afraid slums will just be popping up all over Ogun coz I doubt the government has enough resources to manage the infrastructural demands of such development, not to mention that some 'developers' may soon start calling it another 'nomandsland'.

The part about Lagos starts at 8:37 and ends at 15:42
Lagos was also mentioned between 15:42 - 21:11 on the part about Africa
Not everything they said was accurate. But they tried
