"There's no such thing as monogamy." Aunty colonial pikin, I'd like your opinion on this one o. IrekeOnibudo, you too, cuz I know your stance on monogamy/polygamy.

Personally, I think this is the kind of mentality that gives men the audacity to cheat and still expect "loyalty" from their woman.
So the main question is; is cheating now an expected behavior in African relationships?
Cuz me, I no get o.

I don't think monogamy is a farce but I don't think a majority of folks actually practice it wholly...both males and females.Having engaged elderly couples who have been together for a long time I have observed even some of those relationships had issues of infidelity but their relationships lasted due to how they decided to deal with it.I find sometimes these cheating or infidelity conversations focuses too much on men and not look at both sexes.Women cheat o...they just conceal it better.Cheating is not only prevalent amongst Blacks also but amongst other races....ahahah Indians sabi cheat o...I think they can be more overly emotional than us to the point of suicide and murder and at times very rational where they will turn a blind eye to what is occurring. I err more to the point of being very pessimistic....it seems like cheating is a right of passage ...

You're right, bot gender do cheat. However, I chose to focus on the male gender because of the chic's reply.
I heard from some folks that cheating/infidelity actually strengthens a marriage. According to them, once a couple has crossed the bridge of distrust, they're closer than ever. Trying to make sense of the logic behind that saying, but can't.
So you're pessimistic ehn? Would you work it out with him if he cheats on you?
In the African culture, women are more likely to turn a blind eye, while men would rather make a judgement (it's usually divorce).
