colonial pikin , I think the guy let the Afrobeats outshine the soca element in the music tho
He should have balanced it.If you didn't tell us he was trying to combine both, I wouldn't know there was soca in it Okay.I am not much a of a fan of that song to be honest but Trinis and other folks done like it...thing done reach over a million views and remember our population is just 1.3 million eh.I like this afrosoca song below

Hahahaha...don't tell Trinis soca sound like anything related to reggae o...you want get them vex huh? .Anyways soca is an offshoot of calypso though...Ras Shorty I mixed calypso music with Indian rhythms to produce sokah with the h representing Indian influence into the music....however an initial spelling error by a journalist end up making the soca term being used instead of sokah.Nah him say he do it to better unite the two races lol...and yes that is stonebwoy.

Lol I know there's serious beef in that side as well kind of similar to the India-Pakistani beef. I'm trying to get familiar with these genres. My friend is always disturbing my ears with Popcaan tho I see you talk about Indians all the time. Are they really that much in T&T?

Indians are much for Trinidad o...not Tobago.Their population is higher than the African population but less than the mixed and black population combined. You really can't exist in Trinidad without the both races interacting heavily.Plenty Indians originate from Guyana just like how many African Trinidadians folks from other small islands. The future seems to be for mixed pikin though in Trinidad if the current pace of race mixing continues .Funny you think I talk about Indians all the time though.

Interesting!
But you've made me more confused. Is Trinidad not the same with Tobago? Indians sha. There are a lot of them in South-Africa as well.Interesting to know there's a lot of race mixing in that side without beef.Huh My sister na so we see am ooo everybody wants to have mixed kids.I don't know what they're mixing Awon DJ. It's the same story here as well
Trinidad is not the same with Tobago....they both existed independently until they were joined.Even though we have been joined for quite awhile you do observe the differences between Trinidadians and Tobagonians and Tobagonains self don't like being called Trinis. Some Trinis complain that Tobagonians dislike them though.Personally I haven't had any bad experience with Tobagonians.I'll be honest....for the average Tobagonian...Tobago comes 1st and they are presently seeking self-governance....they have been asking for it awhile now.Our current Prime Minister is of Tobagonian heritage so I don't know if he will give it to them.I quite agree they should be given self-governance but not with Trinidad's money . There is a certain amount of beef with the race mixing o.Not everyone is happy about it especially those racist Indians....but I doubt it can be stopped as everywhere you go you are seeing mixed babies lol.Our East Indian neighbour got all his three girl children picked off by African guys producing dougla babies...not everyone is smiling o.I have never been pro-mixing though I am a product of it but seeing as our last election revealed some racist bunch and we can't deport them since they are citizens...the next best option is to mix them or douglarize as my Trini peeps say.One political scientist was saying last year amongst our young voting population the mixed group was the highest, followed by Africans then by Indians...and that the trend will continue.Trinidad like Guyana has always had racial/tribal politics but it is getting harder as our undecided voters are of mixed heritage or folks who don't care about race. Most of those mixed folks mix back into the Black populace though or amongst themselves.
