To all the elders in the house, So I was scheduled to have an interview with IBM this morning....this was supposed to be my third round with them and hopefully the last. 1. The interviewer came 15min late 2. We had to reschedule because of technical difficulties I've already got offers from two other companies. Should I wait for this interview? Do you think incident with IBM was appropriate? I'm just a lil bit upset that I woke up so early (@5am) for an 8am interview, only to have it rescheduled. iyalode, Moffy, OmoOba, Iya Niyen!, Omoluabi, dansoye1, Belmot, osoronga, Omo Oba of the Source, IrekeOnibudo, ioannes, laudate, oduabachanal, stblack, zaynie, ilaje2015, omohayek, AgbongboAkala, Ogbeni Ogunnaike, aparo, black, colonial pikin, skylar, cocoafarmer, missy89, ibk, Merchantt, lontoro, isalegangan, yorumigrant, ajanaku, sholeybanty, ayodejilara, oloyesaso, sakur, ritchiee, mignone, honeychild, Short_Biscuit, amorere, donphilosophy, governor, irewande, isholapecham, ola, olugbenga86, taiwo, loadofs, ijeshaboy, tomtoxic, imodoye, camronaija, ayekooto, dehinde, fado, scully95, tunde, ayo, omoba, tallwolleh, mankind, anago, egbaknight, oduastates, atandaniyi, ayxmania, omoolowokanbati, sapiodunamis, blaqcoffee109, fluteman, olukumi, sesinu, araabeokuta, qreem231,

I guess the question is how attractive this job is to you. If it's not that attractive then I wouldn't bother - there's no point going to an interview for a position you don't care about.
The next question I'd ask is how long you have before you must make a decision on the other two offers you already have. Will IBM be willing to accelerate their interview process to fit within this time window?

Do the interview only if:
1. You are interested in the offer. 2. An offer from IBM will give you better leverage to negotiate other offers. 3. You just want to do it for the experience.

I would want you to consider the working conditions of the job(schedules, work hours and rest periods),the improvement that come along on the job ,remuneration etc before making a decision.
As for the IBM rescheduled interview, wait for it ,it might turn out to be the one that offers the best.
The world is your oyster.
Success all the way.

That's the problem, I don't have much time. She rescheduled it for Monday, so I'll prompt her to make her offer quickly. Just wondering how I'd word it to her. The other offers I have are equally yummy, but I've been in love with IBM for a long time now.

My career adviser said the same thing. I do see myself with IBM later in the future even if I don't get this one, so it makes sense to know their interview processes.

Salary/money matters more than any of the mentioned. I love what I do, so it's not a job to me. Long work hours aint a thing. I'm just not impressed with their interview etiquette.

I'd say just tell her the truth - that you're very interested in the job, but the postponement of the interview has left you in a tough position, and you'd like to know if they can speed up the process so you aren't forced into an impossible situation. I think any reasonable recruiter would accept that it's their duty to go the extra mile for you under the circumstances.

If they're reasonable, they would appreciate the quality of honesty. It doesn't mean they'll agree to your preferred date but at least it will be useful in future even if you don't get it now.

It is something he should use to his advantage in IBM and the other two companies. @ibm he makes the recruiter know he is considering other offers, recruiters will tell HR manager and his future line manager that the dude is hot cake. More leverage with salary negotiations. For the other companies, you can tell them you are considering offers from IBM and they may open up more room to negotiate since you are a hot resource and everybody seems to really want you. Those are some of the things I consider when I am hiring people. The more companies want you, the better we'll value you.
