I have never been to that of Kano. But I like what is going on in Abeokuta. By the time all those ongoing projects are completed, Abeokuta would definitely be a template for urban renewal. Let me tell you a story. I came to Abeokuta with some of my friends in Ondo state sometimes last year enroute to Sango Ota. I wanted to dazzle them with the glitters of the Rock City. We came in through Abeokuta-Sagamu express, moved through Babangida Boulevard, got to Opic Area, then we moved to Lalubu street in Okelewo area, we passed through the Ibara flyover (I deliberately passed under the bridge for them to admire the beautiful flyover), then Ita Eko (there is an air-conditioned flyover there which I considered a white elephant project). They were wowed by the time we got to Tinubu Square in Sokori and then we headed through the new bridge to Brewery and then to Ita Oshin then to Lagos. IrekeOnibudo have you ever pass through all these routes I mentioned in the night? You'll be very proud to be an Egba man.

AgbongboAkala how come Ogun state government hardly beautify their roads with greenery
And also I'd like to know how these countries are able to do this.I'm guessing it's carpet grass and not natural If he had done that, people would have been shouting that he was using their money to plant flower. On a more serious note, I actually thought this place was the Challenge interchange flyover at Lagos-Ibadan Expressway very close to the Toll gate. Most of our people do not support greenery because they see it as waste of fund. Abeg pull this one down and put the Ibadan own there jo. Awa naa ni tiwa. Lol don't tell me Ogun state can't build roads and beautify the environment at the same time .
Speaking of the challenge flyover, I have no idea what it looks like and I tried looking for pictures online, I couldn't find any.
I'll be very appreciative If you can get us some pictures
But seriously, we need to start working on greenery. It's crucial.
I saw some pictures of Kigali some few minutes back and I was like Oooh LLLLLooord!
I need to open a thread on that city. That's hands down the most beautiful city in Africa

I need to open a thread on that city. That's hands down the most beautiful city in Africa It's not that Ogun cannot build roads and beautify the environment but the mentality of our people. For instance, when Fashola started planting of trees in Lagos, some people were actually mocking him. But today, what do we have? The same people who are mocking the project yesterday are the ones taking selfies in those green environment. I tell you my general, when Amosun started his urban renewal programme, it was one day one curse, but if you go around Abeokuta today, you'll even see the joy in their faces. Our people sometimes make it difficult for government to take a giant leap. They prefer a Father Xmas kind of government to one that will build a project for the future. I belong to a school of thought that believe that provision should be made for the future no matter the incoveniences of the present. But as a politician, you can't do that because that will cost you political patronage. So, when our people mentality change, our government will be more proactive in developing and beautifying our environment.
