Actually he WANTED it as he felt their votes would make the difference in his favour but the party turned him down. See what some akotiletas would do to win a power tussle against a fellow Yoruba? Exactly the same scenario between Afonja and the Alaafin.... What happened at the end? The slaves called to the table to join in the family meal ended up killing their hosts and taking over. Some Yaribas never learn. Shebi they were all present at Professor Akintoye's lecture. The man was low key throwing shades at Agbaje and his fellow iddiots. Really, my biggest fear for Lagos is all these Yorigbo clowns roaming about Yorubas also need to start voting too. Like I never expected PDP to get as many votes as they got during the last election in Lagos. It's sad PDP even won Surulere to my surprise. You see fools playing ball on election day. When their preferred candidates don't win, they start lamenting inside the Barber shop

Short_Biscuit , their interest in Lagos politics didn't start in 2015 ooo, they've been on it for a very long time They keep pointing to their exaggerated population/ contribution Ogbeni Ogunnaike , Jimi Agbaje's own is not sophistication, he's just stupid! You are right. Leading up to that election, one of their candidates that was vying for the governorship went on Channels tv and said that he doesn't need to speak or understand Yoruba to govern Lagos, in response to Maupe's question about him relating with the Yoruba indigenes. Maupe didn't take it easy on him at all during that interview o, she kept hammering home the point that Lagos is an indigenously Yoruba-speaking state while the guy kept arrogantly dismissing that as inconsequential. In the end he sort of conceded by agreeing to say the words 'My name is ...' in Yoruba when she eventually asked him to try to say something in Yoruba language to Yoruba voters.

It's not like he's really fond of the fools cheering him and awarding titles It just happens that he's very vocal against someone they hate That guy is a core Yoruba man anytime anyday.

The truth is that the Igbos in Lagos really came out for GEJ and Agbaje in that election o, and it showed in the results. Obviously our peopke did not really go out to vote and that portends a grave risk in the future o. My mother-in-law is a core ACN/APC supporter and she remarked that during that that last election was different than all the previous ones she had participated in. She said for the first time in her life the PDP won her ward, and that it was thanks to the igbos that came out en masse to vote. It was at Shomolu and that was where the Igbo State house of Assembly member emerged from. My uncle that stays at Ikorodu said the same thing too that the igbos were determined to make a statement via that election. Thank God they failed else they would have used that as basis to claim that they have the dominant population in Lagos, irrespective of the fact that Yorubas and other non-igbos also voted for Jimi.

Yoruba voter participation in the 2015 election was ABYSMAL... their turnout was nothing to write home about. Considering the fact that out of all the 36 states, the south west states had the Lowest rate of PVC collection...... I think Ogun had 60something percent PVC collection rate...can u imagine. This "Ko kan mi jare" attitude of Yorubas might be the undoing of our people, if our politicians don't do something about it. Maybe na because Yoruba no dey among the candidates, but what was their excuse for not coming out to vote Ambo?

But the likes of Fayose do not see them as the clear and present danger that they are to us. Perhaps if he did ni he would not be so conciliatory towards them. Some Yorubas still see them as civil war victims that need to be pampered and accomodated even in the face of their excesses, and the igbos understand this and play on it to give themselves an edge. It's like how in the U.S some black people have come to equate the white guilt over slavery as a sense of entitlement to get away with a lot of things.

I watched that session. He said he could speak Yoruba... Then Maupe asked him to introduce himself, and he couldn't even mutter 10 words.... Fool was like "Orukor mee neh ......." Finish.

Lol..I won't be surprised at all Ondo South (Odigbo, Ilaje, Ikale, Irele and Ese Odo) will have the highest turn out..... Followed by Ondo North. They will have the most difficult terrain, but ironically they will turn out the most to vote. Central will be Horrible ehhhn....
