Her explanation followed the disclosure by the Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum and Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, that the recent trip of the forum to Saudi Arabia to seek a loan from IDB was facilitated by the Ministry of Finance. The Northern Governors’ Forum had come under intense criticisms following a recent trip to Jedda, Saudi Arabia by some northern governors, led by Shettima, to seek a loan from the IDB. In response to the criticisms, Shettima, in a statement by his media aide, Mallam Isa Gusau, said , “the IDB trip itself was not just done with the consent and approval of the Federal Ministry of Finance but rather, it was even the Federal Ministry of Finance that facilitated the trip and they had a representative as part of the delegation.” www.thisdaylive.com/articles/adeosun-finance-ministry-supports-states-doing-business-with-idb/232652/

This is all very well, but what happens when these states go on borrowing sprees and end up not being able to service their loans? Will the FG have to pick up the bill yet again? Because that was the danger Shehu Sani was getting at when he opposed this move. It is tempting for us to tell ourselves "ki lo kan wa ni bẹ?", on the assumption that only the northern states will go to the IDB, but if the FG ends up having to service these loans, that money will most likely come out of the pot shared between all of the states, even the ones that never borrowed abroad.

...good for the Northern states considering the fact that the country is going through trying times.
I'm even sure the loans would be interest-free, as that's the Islamic way.
This Kemi woman fine sha o. She don marry?
