Buhari Rejects Invitation to Join Coalition of Islamic States against TerrorPresident Muhammadu Buhari has tactically rejected an invitation by Saudi Arabia to join the Coalition of Islamic States against Terror. Buhari, who is on a week-long visit to Saudi Arabia and Qatar, told his host and ruler of Saudi Arabia. King Salman Bin Abdul-Aziz, that rather than joining the coalition, Nigeria would support the coalition. He spoke at a bilateral meeting between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia in Riyadh hosted by the ruler, King Salman Bin Abdul-Aziz. The president, who made his first pronouncement on the invitation to join the coalition of Islamic states against terror spearheaded by the Saudis, congratulated the Kingdom on forming the coalition. He said: "Even if we are not a part of it, we support you. I must thank the Kingdom of SaudiArabia for the recent creation of a coalition to address the menace of international terrorism. "Nigeria will support your efforts in keeping peace and stopping the spread of terror in your region. This is in consonance with our own commitment and on-going efforts in seeking to stamp out Boko Haram terrorists from the West African sub-region and Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC)." www.thisdaylive.com/articles/buhari-rejects-invitation-to-join-coalition-of-islamic-states-against-terror/232745/

So the man has a little sense after all. He realized that the Saudis were trying to recruit him into an anti-Shiite grouping - that's the only "terror" the Saudis really care about. With Boko Haram, Niger Delta and IPOB trouble at home, Buhari must understand that forcing the Shiites into armed revolt would be the final straw on the back of the Nigerian state.

Haba omohayek, pls give the man some credit. Did you ever imagine Buhari will join that coalition? Did you imagine the shite massacre was at the instance of the Saudi's or an attempt to curry favour from them? My brother, pls don't fall my hand abeg. Buhari has his faults but even at that, he isn't the devil the deluded 'kingkongs' east of the Niger make him out to be.

Nah man, I don't see him as a devil incarnate, I just find it frustrating how stubbornly Buhari refuses to accept what the better-informed people have been telling him on what to do about the economy: o dun mi gaani pe awọn eniyan ilu mi n jeya bayi nitori iburu ọkunrin yi. If Buhari were a callous thief like Abacha or Jonathan, at least I could blame it on his greed, but for once Nigeria has a president who seems to care about the masses, and he chooses to introduce the same old failed policies of 1983-85, expecting the results to be magically better this time around. It's hard to credit a man with much intelligence when he seems to have learned nothing from previous mistakes during 30 years out of power ...

Exactly the reason why I'm still holding to the belief that he'll come good with time. He cares too much about talakawas not to and I see he's already bending to some good advice by bringing Ben Akabueze and Abike Dabiri on board. I dey pray for am.....don't know what else to do right now
