Hehehe I watched Aturota on Tuesday and on friday I watched Alade Owala part 2 after weeks of procastination I tried searching for the name of the third one I watched on friday night but I couldn't find it Could you do all of us a favor by posting good Yoruba movies on this forum? Good movies as in, plot ti o make sense ni o. I don't want to watch movies about sugardaddies, sugadaddy senator, love etc. I'd like movies with strong children roles like "Oritoke". We need more children to act. Awon omo wa ni ojo ola. I don't think I'm the right person to do this because I skip most parts of it But I'll start making sure I watch them fully for the benefit of folks here. Don't stress, there are hardly Yoruba movies that aren't about love or comedy. You have no choice lol

Iya Hafusa...
Most of the Yoruba movies showcase evils, juju, thuggery and toutisim no doubt but I think the antagonists and evil-doers come out dejected, sad, remorseful and sometimes dead at the end of the movies, thereby, passing messages across that evil never pays and karma is real.
Yoruba films and their producers sure know how to develop good plots and pass good, beneficial and value-adding moral messages across to the viewers but the technical and directing aspects of the movies are often flawed.
Yeah, I love Saworoide. I can also watch "O le ku" 100 times.
Ileke, make I give you one assignment. Lol
Translate the following into Yoruba:
1. The University of Lagos 2. The Lagos state University 3. Lagos, the Land of aquatic splendour

Let me be honest, I can't translate them, but I hope you're not trying to make a point by implying that some words aren't translatable. Understood, but why speak English 40% of the time? i.e Se o fe 'mad' ni? Bawo ni 'feelings' e? mtchewwwwwwww

I don't give a shoit about Oyinbo movies.......I barely watch hollywood movies, when my friends force me to go to the theater. Imagine in Yorubawood movies, women play the roles of 1)Housewife 2) Tout 3) Desperate lover 4) Lover etc and sometimes 5) whack doctors and gossiping nurses When will I see a Yoruba female 1) scientist 2) Award-winning researcher 3) Engineer 4) Politician that cares for the people etc. Why would I want my children to watch Yoruba movies?

Iya Hafusa, shebi you are a science person and a proud Yoruba girl? You can collabo with Shymexx to run scientific documentaries in the Yoruba language and post them on Youtube and on this forum too. You can also sell them to African magic Yoruba and make some cool cash for yourself Abi what do you think?

Awon Uncle e ati awon egbon e wa ni Ado-ekiti, Ikere-Ekiti ati Efon alaye...lol... I think the main reason you are considering the religious thing is the desire to be a better person, to live a moral, ethical life worthy of emulation, to eschew all vices and bad behaviours you might be engaged in. That's cool but I'm sure deep down in your heart of hearts, you know there ain't no God up there!

Honorebu , ajanaku , You guys need to watch this movie...ORITOKE 1. It has a strong Yoruba child role. She speaks flawless Yoruba and English. 2. The producer talks about real issue; disability problem within Nigerian's society and the stigma that comes with it. 3. No juju, no touts. This is the kind of movie I'd send to my sister.
