OmoOba They can beautify the town and still maintain that rustic look
That was why I used Kigali as a case study
The reason why I love Kigali is because It's the only city I've seen that has that blend of old and new
On a good day, I would have picked Windhoek, Port Louis or Johannesburg but I believe Kigali is the right model for us since it has some similarities with our states

HonorebuI was at the Trauma Centre today. The second to the last picture is the female ward. I went there to see a spinal cord injury patient. You need to give it to Dr Mimiko in terms of development of health facilities in Ondo State. He tried his best along with his Commissioner of Health Dr Dayo Adeyanju. Do you now that cases are now being referred to that Centre from OAU Teaching Hospital? Very soon, that place will be a reference point in the whole of Nigeria in terms of health facilities. The place has been converted to Ondo State University of Medical Sciences. By the time those professors come in, I don't think there will be any need to refer case abroad again. Kudos to the governor. Meanwhile, the Mother and Child is fantastic. I took my last boy there for jaundice. I was there when a half-dead toddler was brought in. You need to see how the doctors were rushing up and down to save his life. They eventually did, infact I was highly impressed. It was like a movie. I didn't think Nigerian doctors could be that professional. Where is that your 'iba yi' gif? Dr Mimiko deserves that.

AgbongboAkala I agree 100% with you on this.Ondo state has set the standards in the health sector.I will attribute that success to him being a Medical doctor
This project will definitely boost medical tourism. You know I've always envisioned a South-west where our states will play different roles and Ondo state has proven it has what It takes to be our Medical capital.
Hopefully the wealthy ones among us will patronize it.

Hopefully the wealthy ones among us will patronize it. It's not only meant for the wealthy ones. It is for everybody. I know someone who was billed to pay N2.6million in Ilorin for a knee surgery. But in this place, he was billed N1.8million. The woman I went to see was billed N1million for her surgery and even at that, when her case was brought to the attention of the Commissioner, he directed the fees to be slashed by half. Do you know how much that woman will be requested to pay were she to carry out the operation abroad? I love the template the governor used. Most of those centres are privately owned but with some measure of partnership from the state government. If there is actually Peer Review Mechanism among the governors, I think most of them ought to borrow this template from the governor irrespective of their political divide.

AgbongboAkala I understand you and we're both saying the same thing what I meant was that the wealthy ones will rather travel abroad than patronize what we have in Nigeria
even If it's cheaper and much more reliable
