Mehn, is it that Arakunrin hasn't been doing anything to bring succour to the lives of the teeming people of Ondo state? He had better get to work 'cos time is ticking.

The difference between the duo is just in their strategic approach to governance. Mimiko is a thoroughbred politician while Arakunrin is just an opportune technocrat. Mimiko as a politician perfectly understood the way to keep the goodwill of the people by giving them what they could point to in the few weeks he assumed office. That was why Mother and Child Hospital in Akure, Abiye Programme in Ilaramokin and 3i initiatives (a community-based project) were initiated within 3 months of his governorship. Arakunrin on his own part didn't come in to impress anybody as he didn't win through the courts, so he is more focused on enduring projects that would outlast his administration such as in the area of industrialization and infrastructure. Moreso, he believed that Mimiko invested more in Akure/Ondo axis to the detriment of the other towns in the state. Therefore, that was why he categorically told Ondo people that Mimiko has finished the jobs in Ondo town . This has to do with the huge investments of the state in Ondo Medical Village as well as about 5 mega schools and dualization of some roads (unfinished for 8 years) among others. I believe most people in Akure/Ondo axis would be the voters in the poll above. The funniest part is that Mimiko dualized Owo roads but didn't put streetlight. He also dualized Ondo roads but put incomplete streetlight. Arakunrin has just completed the streetlight of Owo and has left that of Ondo uncompleted till date. A case of "Do me I do you".
