Try it elsewhere, like a professional restaurant. Those kinda food are usually cooked by students. Try it a second & third time. If you still don't like it after the third time, then you prolly don't like it.

Cuz she's old doesn't mean she knows how to cook it.
I wouldn't put meat in moimoi o, but try it with fish.
There's another alternative to moimoi that Ekiti people eat: ekuru.
I don't like the pixs I'm seeing online, so I'll cook it one of these days and share the pixs with you.
mixing Ekuru + fried tomatoes/onions + cooked okra = the best.

Quinoa substituted for rice. The delicious smell of the stew drowned out the smell of the quinoa. it's really good. Finally found an edible longterm substitute.

Cooked my first Bulgar Wheat today. Compared to all the rice substitute, this is the best alternative. It same size, texture and smell as rice. You'd hardly taste the difference. While rice is all starch, Bulgar is all fiber and protein. It's definitely a better alternative. Quinoa, on the other hand, has a stronger earthier smell, very small grains and taste different from rice. Quinoa is also too soft textured.

OMG, yum! Not being able to eat ila breaks my heart into bits. The thickness with the iru dotting it, heaven! I just love Yoruba meals too much.
